Room by room

What we fit on an office floor

Sun-facing desks, meeting rooms, reception and circulation each want a different blind. We fit by task and orientation rather than giving every window the same answer.

  1. 01

    Open-plan desks

Screen fabric that cuts glare on monitors and keeps the floor bright and the view outside.

  2. 02

    Meeting rooms

Privacy from the floor, and dim-out where video calls and presentations need the screen readable.

  3. 03

    Reception and breakout

Blinds chosen to sit with the interior finish and the impression visitors get on arrival.

  4. 04

    High or awkward windows

Motorised or grouped control where access is difficult, so nobody is on a ladder with a chain.

Procurement

Fitting into a fit-out or a live floor

Tell us whether the floor is new, occupied or being refurbished, who owns the spec and what the main contractor needs from us. We have fitted DWP, NWAS and Money Wellness without stopping the office working.

  1. 01

    Drawings

Send the floor plan, elevations or window schedule if the project team has them, and we survey the rest.

  2. 02

    Spec owner

We work to whoever owns the spec, facilities manager, contractor, architect or designer, and get sign-off from them.

  3. 03

    Occupied areas

Work zones, desk moves, security restrictions and quiet periods are planned with facilities so the floor keeps working.

  4. 04

    What we bring

Public liability insurance, RAMS, Enhanced DBS for every fitter and Constructionline Gold, sent as one pack when you ask.

Access and programme

Through the floor without stopping work

We work zone by zone so facilities, the fit-out contractor and the people still at their desks all know what is happening.

  1. 01

    Zones

Desks, meeting rooms, reception and restricted areas are taken as separate groups.

  2. 02

    Survey access

Escorts, desk clearance and when each zone can be measured are agreed with facilities.

  3. 03

    Fitting sequence

Room groups are lined up with occupation, other trades and the wider programme.

  4. 04

    Sign-off

Operation and any snags are checked by zone before the area goes back to normal use.

Questions for this setting

Before you send the brief

Can drawings be used for an early budget?

Yes. Send the current floor plan and window schedule and tell us which dimensions are confirmed. We can budget from that, and we still measure before manufacture.

What helps you fix screen glare?

Tell us which way the windows face, where the screens sit and when the glare is worst. That gets a better answer than one generic anti-glare fabric on every elevation.

Do you supply RAMS and fit outside office hours?

Yes. A project specific RAMS comes before we start, and we work around your hours so desks are not disturbed. IPAF and PASMA carded for higher glazing.

What is the lead time for an office fit out, and do you take purchase orders?

Typically 7 to 10 days from survey to installation. Purchase orders are welcome: add the PO or project reference to the enquiry and it follows the job through to invoice.
