The brief
What the site needed.
A bedding and linen company in Stockport had the problem every showroom has. The daylight is the point, because stock has to be seen in it, and the daylight is also the enemy, because it bleaches displays and puts glare across every screen in the building.
Screen fabric answers both. It knocks back the glare and the heat without blacking the room out, and you can still see through it, which matters when the window is the shopfront. The same fabric runs through the boardroom, the design studio and the open plan offices, so the whole building is on one spec rather than a different answer in every room.
The detail that makes it look considered is the drop. Each long run was surveyed as a single elevation and set to one matching line, so a wall of five windows reads as one horizontal rather than five blinds that happen to be near each other.

Screen fabric was specified throughout, so the blinds cut glare and heat while the view out and the daylight both stay.

Long multi-window runs were set to a matching drop so a whole elevation reads as one line rather than a row of separate blinds.

The showroom shopfront was dressed across its full width to control the daylight falling on displayed stock.
