Who is responsible for your information

BBS Window Blinds is responsible for personal information collected through this website and through enquiries made directly to the business.

Information you give BBS

The website forms ask only for information needed to understand and respond to a home or commercial enquiry.

• Your name, email address, phone number and property or site postcode.
• The products, rooms, approximate window count, preferred appointment time and notes you choose to provide.
• For commercial work, your organisation, job title, project type, number of sites, programme, specification stage, access requirements and any files you choose to upload.
• The content of messages you send by email or WhatsApp.

Why BBS uses it

BBS uses enquiry information to respond, understand the work, arrange a measure or site survey, prepare a quotation, coordinate supply and fitting, and keep a record of communication connected with the job.

The lawful basis will usually be taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, meeting a legal obligation or the legitimate interest in running the business and responding to genuine enquiries. If BBS asks for consent for a separate purpose, you can withdraw that consent.

BBS does not use the website forms to make automated decisions about you.

Who it may be shared with

Information is available to the BBS people who need it to answer the enquiry or deliver the work. It may also be handled by service providers supporting website hosting, communications, business records or delivery of the requested service, but only where needed for that purpose.

BBS may disclose information where the law requires it.

If you choose to contact BBS through WhatsApp or another external service, that provider also handles your use of its service under its own privacy terms.

How long it is kept

BBS keeps personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for. The criteria include whether an enquiry is active, whether work was quoted or completed, the need to support the customer relationship, and any legal, tax, accounting or dispute requirements.

When information is no longer needed, it should be deleted or securely disposed of.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, transfer, or object to how it is used. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it.

Cookies and website measurement

BBS uses Google Analytics to count visits and enquiries as anonymous statistics, so we can see which pages help people and fix the ones that get in their way. It runs by default under the statistical-purposes exception in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, added by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. It is never used for advertising. Google signals, ad personalisation, advertising storage and data sharing are switched off, and Google handles the data only on behalf of BBS.

You can turn analytics off at any time, free, with Turn off analytics in the cookie box or the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. It stops straight away, the analytics cookies are cleared where your browser allows, and your choice is remembered in that browser.

Microsoft Clarity shows us how people click and scroll around this site, as heatmaps and as replays of visits. A replay is rebuilt from the page itself, not a recording of your screen, and only covers this website. The enquiry forms are masked so nothing you type is captured. Clarity is separate and only runs if you tap OK on the cookie box, which says so. No thanks keeps it off. You can withdraw that the same way. Microsoft keeps ordinary replays for 30 days.

BBS does not use advertising cookies. If that changes, the website will ask first.

• _ga and _ga_CPWM9H1DJJ: Google Analytics cookies that tell one visit from another. Visit-level data is kept for two months, after which only aggregate reports remain.
• _clck and _clsk: Microsoft Clarity cookies, only if you allow Clarity.
• bbs-consent: remembers your analytics choice in this browser.
• bbs-touch and bbs-lead: kept for the current browser tab only, so an enquiry records how you found the site and a thank-you page is not counted twice.
• When an enquiry is delivered, the website also records the date, the page it came from and whether it was a home or commercial enquiry, with nothing that identifies you, so BBS can count enquiries without any cookie.

Changes to this notice

BBS may update this notice when the website, business processes or legal requirements change. The latest version and its update date will remain on this page.
