How we work on your site

Fabric and fire
Yewdale contract fabrics certified to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, with the certificate for the specified fabric supplied on every commercial order. A Type C certified fabric is available where the specification calls for it.
Child safety
Devices to BS EN 13120 are fitted and adjusted on every unit, with chains and cords secured at the correct height. Mandatory in schools, nurseries and care settings.
Fixings and substrate
Self-drilling fixings into aluminium frames. Rated cavity anchors in plasterboard, or hardened screws where a stud is confirmed. Masonry drilling uses on-tool HEPA extraction and face fit tested P3 masks.
Working at height
EN 131 professional access equipment, inspected and tagged before use. Two fitters, one working and one at ground level watching the area below. IPAF and PASMA carded for powered access and towers.
Occupied buildings
We ask to see the asbestos register at induction before anyone drills, and we stop and check rather than guess on any material the register does not cover.
Getting it done
Seven to ten days from survey to fitting, and we work around your hours. Project specific RAMS come to you before we start.

Questions procurement teams ask

What insurance does BBS carry?

Public and products liability of £5,000,000 and employers' liability of £10,000,000 for any one claim, with Aviva Insurance Limited, valid to 5 February 2027. The certificate comes with the quote or on request.

Which accreditations can we file for our approved supplier list?

Constructionline Gold and BBSA accredited. Checkatrade rating 9.83 out of 10 from 96 reviews, checked 22 August 2026.

Do you supply RAMS before you start?

Yes. A project specific risk assessment and method statement comes to you before works begin, on every commercial job. A redacted example is on this page.

Is the fitting team vetted for schools, care homes and healthcare?

Enhanced DBS across the fitting team. CSCS carded, with our own SSSTS qualified supervision, and Laura Pinder holds IOSH Managing Safely.

Are your fabrics fire retardant?

Yewdale contract fabrics certified to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, with the certificate for the specified fabric supplied on every commercial order. A Type C certified fabric is available where the specification calls for it.

Are the blinds child safe?

Devices to BS EN 13120 are fitted and adjusted on every unit, with chains and cords secured at the correct height. That applies to every blind we fit, not only in schools and nurseries.

Can you work at height and in occupied buildings?

IPAF, PASMA, Working at Height and Asbestos Awareness trained, with face fit testing. We ask to see the asbestos register at induction before anyone drills, and we work around your hours.

What is the lead time, and do you accept purchase orders?

Typically 7 to 10 days from survey to installation. Purchase orders are welcome: add the PO or project reference to the enquiry and it follows the job through to invoice.
