The brief
What the site needed.
Moorside High School put a run of very different rooms into one holiday booking. Nursery classrooms, the library and the shared areas each took dim-out roller fabric, picked to sit with the decor already on the walls, from the nursery blues through to neutral tones elsewhere.
The fire exit doors were the careful part. Every one of them carries a door closer, a panic bar and access control, and the blind had to sit around all three and still pull down cleanly. Tall windows were treated as two drops, one high and one low, so the full height is covered rather than the bottom half.
Schools run to their own rhythm: a short access window, fire safety to respect and a need for child-safe fittings that still look right in a classroom. BBS’s own fully employed installation team, all Enhanced DBS did the work and had it finished before the children came back.
