The brief

What the site needed.

This North Manchester dental surgery needed privacy at the treatment-room windows, without the rooms going dark. The chairs and clinical equipment were already in, so the blinds had to be fitted around a working surgery.

The same bright blue roller went through the treatment rooms and the X-ray room, so the surgery looks like one job. Fitted by BBS’s own fully employed installation team, all Enhanced DBS.

What we did

A specification shaped around the setting.

  1. 01

    Treatment rooms

Bright blue roller blinds on the windows, so patients have privacy from outside while daylight still comes through.

  2. 02

    X-ray room

The same blue roller on the single window behind the panoramic unit.

  3. 03

    Fabric

The fabric is not a blackout. Light still comes through when the blinds are down, so the rooms stay bright enough to work in.

Working on site

Planned around the building, not just the windows.

  1. 01

    Same roller throughout

The treatment rooms and the X-ray room took the same blue roller, so the surgery matches.

  2. 02

    Fit around the equipment

The dental chairs, cabinets and panoramic unit were already in. The blinds went into the window recesses around them.

The result

What changed for the space.

Patients have privacy from outside, the treatment rooms stay bright enough to work in, and the X-ray room matches the rest of the surgery.

  • One blue roller finish through the rooms shown
  • Privacy from outside without darkening the rooms
  • Fitted around live dental equipment
