The brief
What the site needed.
Bark Street is a row of new-build houses in Bolton town centre, built by Forshaw Construction. BBS completed the roller blind installation across the whole terrace, with dim-out fabric to the living spaces and blackout to the bedrooms and bathrooms, fitted throughout every plot.
Volume housebuilder jobs bring their own challenges: a mix of window shapes and sizes across each plot, patio doors needing wider blinds, box-dormer and angled reveals, and a tight build programme to keep to. BBS’s own employed installation team measured and fitted every window across the whole terrace to the same standard, plot after plot.
If you are a developer or contractor needing blinds fitted across multiple units to a fixed handover date, that is exactly what BBS does.
What we did
A specification shaped around the setting.
- 01
Living spaces
Dim-out roller blinds to living rooms and kitchens, including wider blinds sized to cover the patio doors onto the terraces.
- 02
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Blackout roller blinds to every bedroom and bathroom, fitted inside the reveal.
- 03
Awkward openings
Box-dormer windows and angled reveals in the top-floor rooms were measured individually and fitted so the blind sits square in the opening.
Working on site
Planned around the building, not just the windows.
- 01
Measure every window
A mix of window shapes and sizes across each plot, so every opening was measured rather than assumed from the drawings.
- 02
Keep to the programme
Manufacture and fitting were sequenced to the developer's build programme and handover date.
- 03
Fit plot after plot
BBS's own employed installation team fitted every window across the whole terrace to the same standard, one plot after the next.
The result
What changed for the space.
Every plot on the terrace handed over with blinds fitted throughout, dim-out where people live and blackout where they sleep, delivered to Forshaw Construction's programme by one supplier.
- Every window on every plot fitted, to one standard
- Dim-out in living spaces, blackout in bedrooms and bathrooms
- Delivered to the developer's handover date
